Navigating the complexities of immigration law can often feel overwhelming. Whether you are seeking assistance with a visa application, pursuing a green card, or applying for citizenship, at KW Law, we understand the challenges and are dedicated to making the process as smooth and transparent as possible. If you’re considering hiring KW Law for your immigration needs, let’s walk through the five key stages of your case.
The KW Law Immigration Intake
Your case begins the moment you reach out to KW Law. Whether you connect to our intake team through kwlawstl.com, via phone, or with the help of our many previous immigration clients, we are ready to listen and understand your unique situation. In this initial conversation, we gather basic information about your immigration needs and address any preliminary questions you may have. KW Law’s goal is to ensure you feel comfortable and informed about the process ahead. We also know what questions to ask to gauge your situation and determine the type of immigration consultation you may need. If your case doesn’t align with our areas of expertise, we will help you find a trusted legal professional who can assist you. We prioritize confidentiality and strive to create a supportive environment where you can discuss your immigration situation without fear of exposure.
At this stage, you may also be exploring other law firms and wondering about fees. While we can provide a general price range for our services, the specifics will be discussed during your consultation with an attorney. Once we have gathered your information, we will set up your consultation, typically via Zoom, though we are flexible and can accommodate other preferences.
The KW Law Immigration Consultation
Now that your intake is complete, we do our best to arrange for your attorney consult as quickly as possible but sometimes it might be within two to three weeks. If we have requested your immigration documents in advance, please send them on over; if not, please bring with you! Open communication is crucial, so it’s important to be thorough when discussing your circumstances. This is your opportunity to delve into your immigration goals and challenges. Immigration attorney Khazaeli will present various strategic options, discussing the pros and cons of each along with the associated costs so that you feel confident in your decision. KW Law prides ourselves on honesty and transparency, providing an accurate assessment of your case’s likelihood of success – we will never sugar coat challenges!
During the consultation, we will also share information about our firm, including our experience and what sets KW Law apart from other immigration firms. You will have plenty of time to ask any questions, as your understanding and comfort are our priorities. Following the consultation, we will send you an engagement agreement to formalize our relationship and outline the services we will provide.
Getting Started with KW Law
Whether it’s to obtain an immigration Bond for release, work authorization, citizenship, asylum or to become a Permanent Resident (aka Green Card holder), when you decide to move forward with KW Law on your immigration case, we assign you a dedicated case manager who will be your primary point of contact throughout the entire process. While KW Law’s entire administrative team is equipped to assist you, your case manager will ensure you have consistent support. Your case manager will provide you with a checklist of required documents and a secure link for you to upload these documents. (Don’t worry, if you aren’t comfortable with technology, there are lots of ways we can help you get us your documents!) You will also receive a questionnaire for basic information like employment details, address, and family history. Even better, to make things as easy as possible, we provide examples of what to include in a photo album, sample “relationship” letters about your relationship, and even a template you can give your friends who will be writing letters of support for you!
All throughout the preparation of your case, your case manager will maintain regular communication with your attorney, ensuring every detail is thoroughly addressed. In case you are wondering how long this all takes, we typically find that by the time clients are able to submit all the evidence we request, it’s about 1-2 months. Once your application is all and we send it out!
KW Law Case Monitoring
Whether a citizenship, visa, or asylum application, once with the appropriate government agency (USCIS, Department of Homeland Security, Executive Office of Immigration Review) KW Law will monitor it’s progression. For our clients, we describe this as the “Let Us Do The Worring For You” phase. Though there are only a few predictable updates the government provides, we check in on its progress and note important dates of inquiries, keeping you updated on any developments. The typical stages we track include case the initial I-797 “receipt notice,” your fingerprint appointment at the local USCIS Field office, and then a lengthy waiting period with little to no updates. In most cases, “no news is good news.” Sometimes, the government might ask for clarifications and/or additional information and issue a “Request for Evidence” (RFE). In such cases, we will collaborate with you to prepare a comprehensive response.
Your Approval and Interview
After what may feel like an eternity, you will receive notice of an approval or that an interview has been scheduled. If your application requires an USCIS interview, we will prepare you thoroughly. KW Law will arrange an “interview preparation” session with attorney Khazaeli who will go over potential questions, and provide strategies to help you feel confident and well-prepared. Depending on how long your case has been processing, KW Law may also prepare an application supplement to be given to your interviewing officer.
When applicable, KW attorney will accompany you to the interview, further supporting you through the routine – yet nerve wracking – step. Typically, you will know your application’s approval status at the end of the interview. If a decision is not made at that time, we will continue to monitor the situation until a resolution is reached.
Working with KW Law through the various stages of your immigration journey offers a structured and supportive experience. From the initial consultation to the final interview, we prioritize clear communication and diligent monitoring of your case. Each phase is designed to keep you informed and prepared, ensuring that you feel confident throughout the process. KW Law’s dedicated team of immigration law specialists is here to assist you every step of the way, advocating for your best interests and working tirelessly to achieve a successful outcome. Thank you for trusting KW Law with your immigration needs.
